What's New This Year

Last year's event did not break a Guiness Record, but it had a very positive result. 2011 will be bigger than ever, and will be different in a couple of ways:

  • This year's event will focus first on the area between Lock 1 and Lock 3 (see the map).

Welcome to Hands Across Niagara

Hands Across Niagara is a compelling charity event that will be held in Niagara that aims to unite Niagara residents between the Lake Ontario and Lake Erie shores.

"You can be in a wheelchair, you can be on crutches, you can be 7 or 70 years old, it doesn't matter, you can participate." "This event is for everyone."

The vision for Hands Across Niagara is that on June 4th, 2011, thousands of Niagara residents will simultaneously hold hands in a human chain starting at Lock 1 (Lake Ontario) continuing along the Welland Canals walking Trail ending at Lock 3. This will not only be a profound show of support for people afflicted with cancer, but will promote broader community awareness and importantly, raise money that will stay in Niagara to combat the disease and support its victims.
